Comprehensive Eye Exam

A comprehensive eye exam goes beyond a simple vision check, providing a holistic understanding of the patient's eye health and offering proactive measures for maintaining optimal vision. Specialized tests may include checking intraocular pressure, assessing peripheral vision, and examining the health of the retina.

Contact Lens Fitting & Training

During a fitting, optometrists assess the unique characteristics of a patient's eyes to determine the most suitable lens type and prescription. The training component involves instructing patients on proper insertion, removal, and care of contact lenses, emphasizing hygiene and maintenance practices. This personalized guidance ensures that wearers can enjoy clear vision while minimizing the risk of eye infections or discomfort.

Glaucoma Testing & Co-Management
Glaucoma testing and co-management are integral components of comprehensive eye care aimed at detecting and managing glaucoma, a progressive eye condition leading to optic nerve damage and vision loss. The optometrists will employ various methods, including tonometry and visual field testing, to assess intraocular pressure and peripheral vision, crucial indicators of glaucoma risk while working with ophthalmologists to provide ongoing care for diagnosed glaucoma patients.

Frame Repair

Glasses frame repair is a swift and cost-effective solution to extend the life of your eyewear. Our skilled technicians can replace a loose screw, fix a bent frame, or damaged hinge and restore functionality and comfort to your glasses by utilizing tools to realign frames. This service not only saves you the expense of purchasing new frames but we can replace lenses with the latest prescription, allowing you to continue enjoy your favourite eyewear.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
OCT is a non-invasive imaging technology that utilizes low-coherence interferometry to measure the light echo from tissues, creating detailed three-dimensional images. This tool aids in the early detection and monitoring of eye conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, allowing for precise diagnosis and effective management of ocular diseases.

Digital Retinal Imaging
(DRI)
DRI is an advanced, noninvasive and quick diagnostic technique that captures high-resolution images of the retina, which allows for a comprehensive examination of the back of the eye, including the optic nerve and blood vessels. DRI plays a crucial role in early detection and tracking of various ocular health conditions over time such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.

Referral Letter

An optometry referral letter is a document composed by an optometrist to recommend a patient for further evaluation or specialized care with another healthcare professional, typically an ophthalmologist or a medical specialist. This letter communicates the patient's ocular health status, test results, and any identified issues, providing essential information to the receiving healthcare provider.

Visual Field

Visual fields testing assesses the entire area a person can see while maintaining focus on a central point, which is crucial in evaluating the extent and quality of peripheral vision to evaluate the presence of blind spots, peripheral vision loss, or abnormalities that may be indicative of various eye conditions or neurological disorders. Visual field testing is instrumental in early detection of conditions such as glaucoma, retinal diseases, and neurological disorders.

Ministry of Transportation Vision Testing
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) mandates vision testing as part of the requirements for obtaining or renewing a driver's license. The vision test assesses an individual's ability to see clearly and meet the visual standards necessary for safe driving.
